Obvara

Obvara is a fun technique that is great to use on tectured pots. The pots are put into a Raku kiln that is brought up to 1,650 degrees. Then they are taken out of the kiln hot, and submerged into a mixture of water, flour, yeast, and sugar. After that they are dunked in water.  The results are earthy and ancient looking.
